Abstract:
Globalization policy and e-commerce has been under a passionate discussion especially among less developed countries. The main aim of this paper is to explore globalization policies and e-commerce issues among IT SME sector in Iran. According to literature review, there is no conducted research under this umbrella. This paper employs an exploratory approach to address the globalization policies and e-commerce issues among Iranian IT SMEs. Hence, this survey attempts to discover managers’ point of view in the context of some issues such as “attitude”, “perceived benefits”, and “infrastructure” toward globalization policy and e-commerce. The sample size consists of 210 IT SMEs which were randomly selected from the official list of the ministry of industry. According to this study, the SMEs Management’s views indicate positive insight and attitude toward globalization policies and e-commerce usage within their organization. It is noteworthy to state that most managers believe there are many benefits in globalization policy and e-commerce implementation. However, most managers indicated that they have limitedly used proper hardware and software for their e-commerce systems. Similarly, most participants also indicated that they have difficulty to find suitable people with good command of technological knowledge to implement e-commerce systems.
