Green Transformation of Transport on the Example of Emission Assessment of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Emissions in Electric and Combustion Engine Vehicles during Operation

Abstract:

The article discusses the problem of assessing carbon dioxide emissions and efficiency factors for vehicles equipped with conventional drive units (ICE), hybrid and electric in the scope of the green transformation awaiting individual transport. Studies have shown that electric vehicles are the most efficient for urban areas in terms of operation. They do not generate toxic emissions and demonstrate the highest efficiency, which affects the total energy consumption. It was confirmed that the lowest carbon dioxide emissions associated with new generation compression ignition engines, while the lowest thermal efficiency occurs in the oldest generation compression ignition engines. The research is dedicated to both vehicle users and government administration in connection with the planned transformation of road transport after 2035.
