Grouping the Rural Areas at NUTS 3 Level, after the Economic Dimensions of Quality of Life Level, in Romania

Abstract:

In this research, we are builing an aggregate index of quality of life (based on its economic dimensions), which measuring the quality of life level for each county (the Romanian rural areas at NUTS 3 level). This index is built on a set of "seven" indicators and on "3" economic dimensions: infrastructure dimension, social services dimension and diversification of the rural economy dimension. Also, we determining the distance between the level of development of counties by the quality of life level (measured by aggregate index) and grouping the counties in clusters by the quality of life level (expressed as an aggregate index) depending the economic dimensions: diversification of rural economy, infrastructure (public utility) and social services (education and health).
