Abstract:

This paper offers an overview of the Hawala method of money transfer , its historical reasons  on why hawala money transfer  was developed , how the system is operated and managed .and the roles played by agencies and their agents in the system . It also covers the advantages and  disadvantages  of hawala money transfer system  and studying the circumstances under which hawala can be associated  with money laundering .The process involved in establishing  hawala companies and the future plans to improve the running of hawala system also being covered .
