Abstract:
The used of RFID system in varies area is very demanding nowadays including in the automotive industry, health care, manufacturing, payment transaction, transportation and warehousing and distribution systems. The unique of RFID system instead of its predecessor technology, electronic tracking and identification (barcode system) is the architecture which based on the microprocessor that containing the memory space, and allowed RFID chips to be applied in many instances without line-of-sight reading. Besides that, RFID system allowed objects that have been tag to be identified simultaneously. However, reading multiple tags simultaneously without proper management could lead to a failure in communication between tag and reader called collision. Hence, we proposed a modified version of Accelerated Frame Slotted ALOHA protocol called Hasten Dynamic Frame Slotted ALOHA (HDFSA) to condense a number of retransmission for one tag, besides reducing the probability of colliding tags. In HDFSA, the colliding tags in the first round reading will be identified in the next reading. It is expected that our protocol performance would be better in terms of shorter time in identifying process of tags since number of tag collision problems has been reduced.
