Abstract:
An important role in the states’ economic and social development is owned by the insurance system. Through this system significant financial resources are mobilized and redistributed through specific instruments with which it operates. Coherent operation of social health insurance systems contribute to the stability of risk redistribution manifested at the individual level, but especially to reduce the institutional and corporate one. The amounts involved, which should not be neglected, through this system, may constitute important sources of funding for the economic activity. The recovery of the human potential in the context of a high productivity largely requires the existence of an articulated health system in accordance with the rising needs of protection against the staff’s risks of illness. This work examines the evolution, structure and tendency of the Romanian health insurance system, as a constituent element of the community system scheme, analyzed in terms of economy and achieving institutional efficiency.
