Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to highlight the interaction between the liberalization of the health care services and the globalization phenomenon and also the consequences triggered by it. After having studied the specialized literature and observed the present situation in Romania, we have tried to point out the predictable benefits and limitations of liberalization in this domain with a well-known specificity. The study is based on qualitative methods. First, we studied the system specific documents and the non-participative observation of the phenomenon, in order to ensure a better understanding; the observer has to adopt a positive approach. We used statistical data. The source of these data will consist from the official national and international reports issued by the institutions involved in these tasks.
The chain of reforms by means of which the state has tried to reinvigorate the sanitary systems has characterized each state-run sanitary policy. In Romania, the recommendations of the European Union policy and the desire to reduce the continually increasing costs have determined structural changes within the system. Within globalization, one cannot leave aside the national framework of the sanitary system and the inequalities among the states as far as the health care services provided are concerned.
