Abstract:

The goal of encoding digital video content is to maximize the efficiency of the process. Efficiency is understood as maximizing the quality of the obtained video stream in relation to the bit rate necessary for its transmission. Focus of this article is to describe and compare the video encoding standard in new generation digital television systems and multimedia content on the Internet, the HEVC codec.
