Abstract:
Romania has important energy resources, with a long history of coal mining, tradition that spans more than 150 years. History of coal mining in Romania has been treated over time by a number of authors, the works which, attempts a comprehensive image of the overall evolution of the work and lives of residents in areas with potential in this regard. Based on this picture, this chapter aims to facilitate understanding the evolution of the coal industry in Romania, policies and legislation, in the context of historical events and the national economic and social development.
