Abstract:
This paper presents a comparative analysis of such cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum. A historical analysis was carried out for each currency and main graphs are presented, which illustrate how a cryptocurrency changed with time and which indicators affected exchange rate jumps. At the end there is a table showing the distinctions of the currencies, which bring us to the conclusion that Bitcoin is a popular cryptocurrency with high market capitalization. On the other hand, this currency is hardly mineable at the moment, since it is a very energy-consuming procedure.
Litecoin is a cryptocurrency which has the following advantages: it is much faster to mine than Bitcoin. One block of Litecoin takes up just 2.5 minutes of hashing in comparison to 10 minutes necessary for hashing a block of Bitcoin. Thus, Litecoin transactions are faster to process and confirm.
Ethereum. This electronic currency takes its stable second position in the list of capitalization and price per unit, yielding a lot to more popular Bitcoin, but being its confident competitor at the same time. A decentralized autonomous contract-based organization can be set up in Ethereum, which opens up infinite possibilities.
