E-Human Resources Management in UAE Public Sector Organizations

Abstract:

This study aims to investigate the impact of information technology on the functions of human resource departments in the UAE. Specifically, it examines the perceptions of UAE public sector employees regarding E-Human Resources Management (EHRM) in their organizations. It presents the results of a survey of human resources directors (HRD) in UAE public sector organisations. While many studies have focused on this area, but one can find very little work in the public sector and more so in the Middle East.

Results were positive and showed that EHRM systems are widely used in UAE and directors see this as something essential. Overall, the main advantages of E HRM, according to the sampled respondents, are an improvement in HRM services, closely followed by data accuracy and cost savings.
