Identification of factors increasing the effectiveness of mass debt collection using the DEMATEL method

Abstract:

This article proposes the use of the multifactorial DEMATEL analysis in identifying the factors that influence the effectiveness of the mass debt collection process, which translates to the repayment level. The conducted research enabled the identification and analysis of key factors influencing the effectiveness of the debt collection process for debts of the specified nature.

The problem posed supports the management of the collection process in such a way that the factors significantly affecting the achieved effect in the form of a high repayment level of the managed debts are considered in the built collection models. In our studies, a group of factors conditioning the effectiveness of the collection process was defined. The research problem identified in our work involved, among others, the verification by a panel of experts of the level of impact on the actual effect of the debt collection process of selected factors determined based on literature studies, which condition the effectiveness of the mass debt collection process.
