Abstract:
Business processes must be supported by the relevant information services for their good performance. These information services are only classified as supported processes, but they are understood by the managers as the most necessary part of the key business processes. Moreover, there is expected flawless performance of them, which means mainly their quality. Quality or ‘value of the data service for business’ is created by combination of utility and warranty. The utility shows that the service is suitable by its content and that has everything for covering specific needs. Warranty relies to the reliability, the ability of the service to be reached at the time of necessity.
The own technological development of the service is preceded by important and also risky step, which is the basic identification of the data service requirement in terms of the utility and warranty. By the ‘risky step’ is meant that it is the very first step for the following development of the services using the technological processes. The significant source of the requirements are of course those, which are said or just asked for by the employees. However, it is not enough for the quality of the business processes. It is necessary to search for the places and data purposefully within the business performance processes. They might serve as the other sources of information for identifying requirements of the data service. The aim of the article is to identify sources for determining the requirements of the IT services.
