Abstract:

Technological development has been moving too fast and is becoming unpredictable day by day. The new era that human race has been experiencing with the powerful use of IT tools is yet to reform itself into something bigger than it used to be in the past. Internet of things enabled cities to get more connected to deliver the optimum value to their citizens by adopting “Smart Cities” concept.  However, at the same time, it introduced several challenges that this paper has covered by studying a given set of literatures to produce a list of common challenges; which have been divided into two categories: technical and non-technical.
