Abstract:
Information technology is an integral part for today's teaching and learning tool. The implication of utilizing these technology tools has a profound impact on the student’s attitude and perspective towards its usage. This paper examine the ethical decision making among undergraduate students towards dilemmas in intellectual property and copyright issues. The differences in decision making judgments in given situations and the influential factors were examined. The authors tested for differences in decision making in which respondents felt that the action in the scenarios was ethical or unethical. This work explored information technology ethics in several ways. The work analyzed the differences in judgments of students before taking a subject in ‘Ethics in Computing’ and after being exposed to a 14 weeks of ‘Ethics in Computing’ course. These findings can be used to target and address ethical issues and enforcement in information systems curriculum.
