Abstract:
Depending on the purpose, the nature of the changes and the urgency of making changes to the system, there are several types of maintenance: corrective, adaptive, perfection and preventive maintenance. In this paper, I have proposed an analysis of the costs involved in this important life cycle of IT systems. Practical activity estimates that corrective maintenance amounts to about 75% of the costs of all types of maintenance. This is an unfortunate situation because corrective maintenance does not bring value to the beneficiary unit and no new functionality, but simply focuses on removing defects from the existing system.
