Abstract:

Funds from the European Union budget obtained for the implementation of projects under long-term financial perspectives are also an opportunity for public universities to intensify their development. Possibility of obtaining EU funding is influenced by many factors, including internal factors at the university. Therefore, main purpose of the study was to analyze and assess impact of internal factors at the university on possibility of obtaining and implementing EU projects by universities. First part of the article is theoretical and has been prepared based on analysis of literature in the field of project management. Second part of the text is based on primary data collected during the survey among EU project managers implemented at public technical universities in Poland. Based on the analysis of literature and results of own research, recommendations aimed at increasing absorption capacity of public universities have been presented.
