Abstract:

Development of business web applications is closely connected with technological progress in this area. Therefore, this paper describes the possibilities of designing and programming real-time multi user web application in the .net framework. For this purpose SignalR framework is used, since it provides unified API covering all communication operations independently on underlying layer. Particular sections of this paper depict how SignalR technology works and outline possibilities of its use for business web application. Thanks to the persistent connection web applications gain the ability to communicate with the client in real time. This ability can be generally utilized to client notifications in case of server event, creating shared workspaces, or chats. Also, this manuscript demonstrates the basic principle of real-time communication and its impact to web applications.
