Abstract:

According to a projection done by the US energy information administration EIA the world energy consumption is expected to rise by 28% between 2015 and 2040. At the same time diminishing fossil energy resources, and thus, increasing energy prices burden the business success of energy-intensive companies. The goal to secure or improve their competitiveness increasingly urges organizations to work on the optimization of their energy efficiency and by this means, reduce costs. Energy Management Systems (EnMS) can be a helpful support for the management to reach this goal.
