Abstract:
A critical problem of the urban development in Slovakia is appearance of the underused sites after the suppression of the industrial activities. The transformation of the brownfields may be very difficult and expensive. The development companies have to cope with financial, environmental and administrative, construction and legal risks. The redevelopment of brownfields in Slovakia is, therefore, of major interest to planning agencies and development companies. The effort of the authors of the article is to point out the implementation of projects in order to use brownfield in the center of the capital Bratislava and the important role of development companies in its implementation.
