Abstract:

Understanding the position of small and medium forest enterprise when it comes to livelihood, generation of income, job generation and poverty reduction is vital to the SMFE sector. This article aims to further examine the definition of SMFEs and the relationship between SMFEs and informal economy. This paper continues to explore how SMFES play an important part in economic livelihood, job creation and reduction of poverty in various developing countries. The data for this paper was collected via secondary sources, such as existing literature from books, published theses and academic journals.
