Abstract:

The article presents a special role of energy as an inherent element of proper human existence. It identifies the importance of energy efficiency to the society, especially in the context of consequences to human health, which strictly determines the quality of life in specific countries. The article describes Ukraine as a country that faces the need to make changes to its energy system and has the opportunity to take advantage of the experiences of other countries in this area in order  to achieve better results. The authors identify selected indicators whose values can result from the intent to quickly improve the situation in the energy sector and, at the same time, can demonstrate negligence, which in a longer term have a negative impact on the surroundings and the natural environment.
