Abstract:

Previous studies revealed that semiautomated electrical cable manufacturing companies in Peru have high production costs due to high levels of machine breakdowns, high mean time to repair, and poor/inadequate training provided to a plant’s staff. Hence, this paper addresses the abovementioned issues through a management model based on lean manufacturing techniques and total productive maintenance philosophy by measuring their impact on a pilot project.
