Improvement the Raw Material Procurement Process in Packaging Production by Using Lean Thinking (LT) – Case Study

Abstract:

The study examines the purchasing process in the Offset Printing House located in Poland. The aims of this paper is to analyze the existing process AS IS and simulate the process TO BE based on Lean Thinking concept. It allows to generate Key Performance Indicators (KPI). The analysis of identified optimization potential allows to develop and improve the process. Application of the optimization method is part of waste elimination methodology in line with the Lean Thinking philosophy.
