Improving the Critical Infrastructure Protection System

Abstract:

Power plants, hospitals, banks and waste water treatment plants are just some of the critical infrastructure components. Each of them directly affects the quality of life of society. Together they form a system whose functioning guarantees the security and stability of the state. Hence, ensuring effective protection of critical infrastructure is today one of the most important challenges for operators of this infrastructure, public administration and security services. Technical infrastructure, human errors, but also criminal, terrorist and other crimes can be a threat to the operation of critical infrastructure. That is why the article discusses various concepts of critical infrastructure and describes its key features of the infrastructure protection system. In the following, solutions were proposed to improve the critical infrastructure protection system, addressing legal, procedural, organizational and technical issues.
