Improving Patient Monitoring through Machine Learning: A Case Study Using Sensor Data in IoT

Abstract:

Healthcare sector has the potential to revolutionize patient monitoring and proactive health management with technology (such as Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning (ML)). This paper presents a complete case study on implementing ML with a hands-on example on the MIMIC-III Waveform Database for analyzing real-time sensor data to help the doctors for better patient care. We demonstrate how predictive analytics can be applied to monitor vital signs and detect early signs of health deterioration, facilitating timely medical interventions.
