Improving the Labor Safety and Operational Efficiency of the Company: Synergy is Possible and Necessary

Abstract:

It is customary to pay considerable attention to safety issues at the enterprises characterized by harmful and dangerous productions. The labor protection system, existing in the Russian Federation, imposes specific, sometimes strict requirements on economic agents. Nevertheless, the rate of occupational injuries in our country is higher than in industrialized countries. As entrepreneurs consider the costs of occupational protection inevitable, they seek to improve their operational efficiency by reducing these costs and economizing. The authors of this article consider such an approach to be outdated. The article describes the mechanism of improving operational efficiency of the company by means of transition to “smart” labor protection process management which increases its safety.
