Improving the Organizational Commitment of Employees – The Impact of Leadership Styles

Abstract:

The aim of the study was to provides an analysis of the organizational commitment in relation to the type of leadership practiced in LC Waikiki company. investigate the effect of the type of leadership on the organizational commitment of employees in a clothing company of French origins operating on the Romanian market. The study used quantitative methodology and the questionnaire survey in five stores belonging to the same company. Organizational commitment was explored from the perspective of three dimensions: identification, involvement and loyalty. The results demonstrated that organizational commitment and leadership are strongly associated. The leadership style oriented primarily towards people and relationships exerts a more beneficial and powerful influence on employees’ commitment at the workplace.
