Income, Occupational Structure and Standard of living in Romania Rural Areas Compared to Urban Areas

Abstract:

Throughout the history, the principles based upon the standard of living of a population was characterized have evolved from one decade to another, from one generation to another and depending on the conditions existing in space and time. Nowadays there is a need for delimitating based on the available resources, taking into account the variety of technological resources. This paper presents the results of an analysis regarding both the similarities and differences recorded between the behaviors of the population in rural areas, compared to those from urban areas. Highlighting the behavior has as a starting point the usage of internet and the results are intended to underline the importance of the resources needed for a decent standard of living. Thus, in the case of a segment of population from the rural areas that has access to at least some of the resources available in urban areas, the recorded behavior is significantly close to the one from the urban population.
