Abstract:
Climate and environmental challenges are a serious concern of our generation. Along with inequalities, the negative effects of environmental degradation are a barrier to a fair and modern economy as well as a sustainable future. The European Green Deal is an ambitious and serious strategy that the EU has taken on to reduce these negative effects as well as to ensure green convergence. In order to be politically feasible and socially acceptable, the European Green Deal’s objectives have to respond to economic and social needs of the EU Member States, to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions, to improve social and economic conditions, as well as reduce social inequality throughout Europe’s regions.
The main aim of this article is to intensify the debate in terms of addressing the relationship between inequalities and the Green Deal, as well as to suggest some improvement measures and to find some alternative solutions.
