Information Management in the 4th Railway Package

Abstract:

A high level of safety in the implementation of transport processes is associated with quick access to reliable and current information as part of the Safety Management System. The amount of data and the speed of changes taking place in the environment necessitates the introduction of an information management system and their flow channels in communication with third parties. Proper management of information resources increases the efficiency and effectiveness of policy implementation and safety objectives. The article presents the possibility to identify channels of external and internal information flow of a railway undertaking by the safety requirements set out in the 4th Railway Package. Similar maps can be identified in infrastructure managers' Safety Management Systems by identifying critical elements of its functioning.
