Information Quality in the Analysis of Multiple Choice Questions on an Example of Assessing the Importance of the European Union

Abstract:

The article presents the results of research aimed at indicating a useful set of statistical methods in the analysis of multiple choice questions and the possibility of choosing many variants of answers (conjunctive cafeteria). The problem is considered due to the quality of information accrue from the analyses of this type of data. The article presents the definitions of questions with conjunctive cafeteria of answers and the most important problems associated with data collection and analysis. Five questions from the Standard Eurobarometer were used to illustrate the problem. For the analysis of conjunctive questions, category frequency, correspondence analysis and parallel plot were proposed. In the study, methods of analysis in the case of data collection errors were depicted. As a result, the proposed methods proved to be appropriate for solving the research problem.
