Abstract:

Food traceability systems represent the fundament for any food safety and quality policy built and implemented either is at organizational level or at national level. The next step is represented by the interconnection of traceability systems of each actor from food supply chain and to collect and manage relevant data and information at national level.

Paper will start with an overview regarding food safety and traceability most important issues, after that being proposed a conceptual model for an information system for sunflower supply chain traceability. Conclusions of the research are discussed.
