Abstract:
We live in the age of information where it is difficult to think of a policy domain that is not affected by usage of information technology which has the potential to change the structure and performance of organisation, enterprises and businesses as well as to transform the way we work, and the way we live. More fundamentally, information technology is among the most important technological changes affecting economy and employers. As information technologies transform the global economy, worldwide they are changing work force in terms of knowledge and skills required for success. Seeking at this point of view the paper aim to explore and present the relationship between information technology usage and job changes. It reviewed the literature in the field of information technology and describes how in general the usage of information technologies are bringing job changes in the needs of organisations and businesses. In addition, the paper highlight that today the competitiveness of organisations and businesses appears increasingly dependent on the ability to develop, recruit and retain technologically work force which has the knowledge and skills that are required for success in any business. It is important to note that these possibilities have not been entirely recognized by many business entities. Importance of organisational changes stimulated by information technology and changing demand for workers of different types in organisations are proposed as necessity. Finally, suggestions for further reasearch are made.
