Abstract:
The article attempts to highlight the issues surrounding modern investments located in the technical and protective zone along Poland's Southern Baltic coast. By emphasizing the initiation of crisis situations through the lens of building in areas at high risk from the sea, it aims to spark the imagination of potential decision-makers and investors regarding the likelihood of unexpected crisis situations.
The thesis presented in the paper focuses on the expected initiation of a crisis due to storm surges and the increasing destructive force of coastal erosion, driven by rising sea levels related to climate change. GIS technology was used to illustrate the research results, revealing potentially at-risk areas through simulation elements that employed spatial interpolation tools based on V-map level-2 mapping.
