Innovation of enterprises in Poland and sources of their financing after joining the European Union

Abstract:

The impact of innovation on the competitiveness of enterprises is one of the priorities of modern economic policy, because it affects the innovation of a given industry, and thus the economies of individual countries. The aim of the article is to show the degree of innovation of Polish enterprises and the changes that took place in this respect at the turn of 2006-2016. The CSO data from 2006-2016 were used for the analysis. In Poland, the level of innovativeness of both industrial and service sectors has a declining tendency. There are many reasons for the lack of interest in implementing innovative solutions among business owners. The most important are: lack of proper support from the State, lack of willingness to take innovative initiatives or fear of failure, lack of financial resources and staff focused on creativity and innovative solutions.
