Innovation & product development management applied in order to optimize elements of the advance sledge with numerical control

Abstract:

The paper try to capture the importance of innovation and product development management within the general framework of a creative economy and knowledge-based society. We strongly believe that the topic of innovation needs to be developed based on a holistic vision such as to cover not only technological issues but also economic (business innovation), social (social innovation) and ecological perspective. Fascinated about holistic and cross disciplinary approaches the authors of this paper (one an engineer and the other one an economist) try to focus on the importance of innovation and product development management applied for tool machines sector. In other papers the authors (Suciu, Suciu, 2007) had provided a more general background of the importance of the creative & innovative management for product development. The synergic interactions between the economic, social and ecological perspective had been mostly developed in other previously written paper (Suciu, Suciu, 2009). The paper provides a more practical vision focusing on the technological dimension and its connection to the other dimensions. The paper presents some original contributions and practical results regarding the optimization of work units for feed and/or positioning movement. It tackles some problems beginning with the functional conception of a product, and next continues with some issues regarding: evaluation of the mechanic structure optimization; analysis of the advanced kinematic chain; using the finite element method to evaluate some constructive variants. The final part presents some constructive performance solutions that had been design by the author. These had been manufactured and applied for some customers.
