Abstract:
Although the general benefits of the cloud services adoption process are being recognized by CIOs and IT leaders, companies are constantly facing the problem of assessing the risks and consequences of CIOs engagement to become business partners and game changers in manufacturing transformation while transferring critical IT applications to the computational cloud. There is still considerable uncertainty and many misunderstandings associated with the assessment of the CIOs’ knowledge in the domain. The purpose of this paper is to structure the knowledge of CIOs and IT leaders in this context, and to analyze the relationships and dependencies between CIOs’ knowledge factors in this area. This will allow us to better understand the problem of CIOs engagement in migration to the computational cloud and to improve the decision-making processes related to it. The method proposed in the paper uses a two-stage approach. In the first step, a fuzzy TF-IDF weighting was performed to identify how important a given benefit of the cloud services adoption is for CIOs in a collection of recognized benefits. In the second step, a factor analysis based on the PCA guided clustering was performed to structure CIOs knowledge on advantages in cloud solutions absorption in manufacturing.
