Abstract:

Supply chain excellence is a challenging domain. To optimize supply chain activities, a merge between its encompassed flows – material and information flow- is required. This merge affords "a Synchronous supply chain" where information flow is used to signal the start of material supply and flow.

This paper investigates researches in this field to emphasize on the current gaps. As conclusions, the paper proposed main research directions for further supply chain studies to effectively handle the current obstacles and drawbacks.
