Internationalisation Strategy: Main Models and Approaches

Abstract:

The growing trend for globalisation of the markets changes the way companies organise themselves and their way of acting and impels companies to consider the development of their activities in the international trade. With the recent economic crisis, the internationalisation has become critical to the economy development. Considering that internationalisation is a part of the company’s growth strategy, existing literature on firm internationalisation approaches and models is reviewed in order to develop a theoretical framework used for researching the topic. As a literature review study, the paper is limited in its practical implications. However, it presents a very useful research systematisation for future research studies.
