Internationalization of Higher Education Pakistan W.R.T Global Trends & Challenges

Abstract:

Education is a very important and fundamental asset and investment for human and financial and economic development and is prejudiced and influence by the environment surrounded by or within which it survives or exits. Subsequent to the 9/11 occurrence or incident and mounting and growing forces of radicalism and extremism, the government of Pakistan very much urged to opt for a new-fangled state-run or a national education strategy and the plan. The guiding principle and main theory was stimulated and inspired by the thought and ideology of globalization and internationalization that explicate and enlighten the educational plan as a knowledge-pedestal financial system and ultimately support economy. In this paper, the internationalization of higher education Pakistan is first focused area in the light of current global trends and challenges. According to Population survey, the dependent population (below 15 years and above 65 years) was 51.2% in 1981, and 53.1% in 1998 which according to UN population projections, fell to 42.7% in 2004 and will further fall to 38.3% in 2015. Similarly, the working age population which was 48.8% in 1981 and 46.9% in 1998 surged to 57.3% in 2004 and it is expected to reach 61.7% by 2015; Second, the current Pakistani university policy has been delineate with the aim of accomplish a position and rank of world-class universities (WCU's). Third, the author investigates the response of upper Pakistani universities to political propensity and tendencies and transform in the market of worldwide scholar. lastly, Globalization is not a new observable fact however its momentum in recent years has been unmatched and unparalleled and very much ignored all the time in Pakistan.
