Internet search engines as tools in social engineering

Abstract:

Knowledge is one of the most valuable resources a person can have. Its possession or lack may have a positive or negative impact on the life of not only the individual, but also the entire community. The enormous range of the Internet makes it possible to obtain information on an unprecedented scale. It is not only easy, but also widely available. The article presents tools for collecting data about Internet users and analyzes the obtained results. It describes how a simple Internet search engine can shed light on a lot of vulnerabilities and presents how to use these tools in social engineering. At the end, recommendations for safe use of the network have been developed.
