Abstract:
Immigrant’s information behaviour is one of the research areas that needs further exploration. In Australia, more empirical research on immigrants is required to support the existence and well-being of its immigrants, particularly from Asian backgrounds. This research aims to examine Asian immigrants’ information behaviour during their settlement process, including their information needs, information seeking behaviour, information ground and sharing, and public library services. The study participants from this study will be Asian immigrants from India, China, Vietnam, Philippines, and Malaysia. Data collection methods include survey, photovoice, and interviews. Using Grounded Theory approach, statistical analysis will be applied to the survey data. Moreover, content analysis and participatory analysis are used for interviews and photovoice respectively. The findings will support the policy makers with evidence-based research to create better policy for immigrants. An information behaviour model will be developed as guidance in excellent service delivery.
