Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to determine the influence that investments on waste recovery have on the quantity of waste generated and treated, but also on the rate of treated waste. Thus, in order to be able to determine these influences, the evolution of these indicators will be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, in the first part of the paper, with the help of European (Eurostat) and national (National Institute of Statistics) data. After determining the evolution, the data strings are correlated using the SPSS program in order to determine the correlation coefficient (Pearson) in order to establish the types of connections and their intensity. It was found that, in Romania, investments in waste reduction influence the amount of waste generated and the rate of treated waste medium to weak.
