Investment in Education and Training of Employees of the Company – Legal and Financial Aspects

Abstract:

Education, training and formation of work skills are the most important methods of developing human capital in a modern company. Training the person becomes a lifelong process that helps to succeed in the job. If the employee wants to be successful as a needed work force, he must constantly deepen and expand his knowledge, skills and practical experiences in accordance with the current requirements of the time. In the context of lifelong education and personal development, it is necessary to distinguish between the training motivated by requirements of employers and adult education motivated by personal needs. The task of employee´s education has legal and financial aspect. In this paper we clarify the issue of deepening and increasing of qualification of employees in terms of labour legislation applying the method of analysis and comparison. In financial terms we point to the financial security of this form of human resource development by the employer. The employee training is expensive and very important is the possibility of the cost recovery. Because the Slovak Republic is currently struggling with a lack of qualified work force (especially in the manufacturing sector), there is a change in the educational system of domestic human resources by promoting the dual education. Summarized findings of empirical research in this area enrich this paper.
