Abstract:

The world is fast becoming an information-based community. This article reviews the state of information security implementation at Mosul’s health sector. This is done via a self-administrated questionnaire and interview with the IT manager or personnel with functions related to IT in selected hospitals in Mosul city. It is natural that all these organizations are trying to put a strong emphasis in order to secure information through having good governance practice in place. However there are various degrees of implementation. It is recommended that these findings be used as basis for new hospitals in developing a secure information-based system for their respective hospitals.
