Abstract:
IT Governance is a set of rules, relationships, and processes that help manage your organization so that the IT supports the organization's strategic goals to the maximum. It defines how IT/ IS supports business and covers risks. There are a number of factors affecting IT Governance and its successful implementation and management, inhibitors that inhibit its successful implementation and subsequent management. A survey carried out in the Slovak Republic shows that the most significant ones are considered to be the non-existing system of IS/IT metrics and the unclearly defined responsibilities of the company departments. The implementation of IT Governance has a positive impact on increasing the competitiveness of the organization and strengthening its market position.
