Job Satisfaction and Causes of Burnout in Romania

Abstract:

Job burnout is a new subject in Romania, but as more and more people suffer serious health problems and even die because of exhaustion caused by their jobs, it becomes clear that more attention should be paid to this matter. The purpose of this paper is to analyze some of the causes of burnout amongst Romanian employees and their degree of job satisfaction. Based on data collected from questionnaires applied to employees and using the instruments offered by informational statistics we find the most common causes of burnout and the connections between these causes, the type of position held by someone and the general satisfaction regarding their work. We conclude by suggesting some solutions to prevent or at least reduce job burnout and rise work contentment.
