Knowledge-based Economy in a Historical Perspective: A Follow-up Statistical Analysis of Wealth Accumulation and Wealth Main Components Evolution in G7 Countries during 20th and 21st Century

Abstract:

Current study presents the results of a statistical analysis of wealth accumulation in all G7 countries and wealth components to GDP ratio evolution in 5 of them for which data were available for the whole 1900-2025 timespan considered in the research. It complements as follow-up research, the, submitted as a separate paper in the proceedings, analysis basing on ANOVA intragroup differences of GDP growth, wealth accumulation rates and top 1 and 10% and bottom 50% income shares in all G7 countries during different development phases of 20th and 21st century e.g.:

  • early 20th century (Pre-IE), encompassing 1900-1939 decennial data,
  • Industrial Era (IE), covering 1940-1979 decades,
  • Knowledge-based Economy (KBE) encompassing 1980-2025 period.
