Knowledge Management and Ergonomics Integration for Occupational Risks Management

Abstract:

Occupational risk management has been enriched by an interdisciplinary approach based on the knowledge synergy created through the integration of ergonomics and knowledge management methods and tools. The systemic view of the working system and the cause – effect analysis have been also, considered in defining the new methodology for the risk assessment. Using these innovative ideas, there have been developed a systematic approach to better support the decision-making process in the field of occupational risks management by creating and exploiting a related ontology. The acquired wisdom was exploited for creating an e-tool (OnRisk web platform) in order to increase assessment efficiency and effectiveness of the occupational risks management. The created occupational risk ontology takes into consideration aspects as risks characterization, impact, health problems, and corrective measures. The developed e-tool facilitate organizations’ continuous improvement of their occupational risks management toward sustainable development (particular to their workplace wellbeing objectives attending).
